A MESSAGE FROM THE MCLEOD FAMILY

Our Cottage is on the northeast end of Burt Lake in an area called White Goose Bay. It is on a paved, dead end street so it is very quiet and quite private. It was built in the 60's and has been maintained but not remodeled extensively  so it still has a nice cottage feel. There is a newer three season room on the lake side where we move the dining table for the summer. It is a really great spot to sit with your coffee in the morning.

We do provide a small TV and VCR. But, even on a rainy day there is so much else to do! We like to play board games, read a book, take a nap, make a special dinner, or just watch the rain come across the lake.  The last time we saw a complete rainbow across the lake after the sun started to come back out. What a treat!

In the evening we often enjoy a campfire. The fire pit is at the water's edge. You can enjoy a wonderful display of stars after the sun goes down. And who can resist a toasted marshmallow?

Off the end of the dock the lake bottom is sandy and the water depth stays at waist high for a long way out. We recommend water shoes even with a sandy bottom.  The water's edge is rocky with about a 4 foot drop down to the water. We do provide a tie up about 40 foot out for daytime mooring. Because we are in a bay, the water is often much more clam than it is out on the main body of the lake.

This is the first year we have rented our cottage. We love animals, but are not allowing pets. There is absolutely NO SMOKING anywhere inside the house or garage.

There is so much to do in and around the lake we know you will enjoy your time here.

Sincerely,

Jim and Mitzi
